PRIVACY & TRUST

Your story. Your choice.

Financial accountability should never come at the expense of dignity.

What we collect

Your name, email, phone, department, membership status, campaign obligations, and payment references help us manage the FYB year. Card credentials are handled by Paystack’s hosted checkout and are never stored here.

What the community can see

Approved FYBs appear in the directory with their name, profile photo, FYB Personality photo, fellowship role and location. You can hide your public profile in Account settings. The amount remaining for each open campaign is visible on your SUPPORT page so anyone can help complete it. Your total paid, contribution progress and public rankings are displayed on your public profile only if you enable them. Transaction history and receipts stay protected. Sponsorship is anonymous by default; donor email addresses never appear publicly.

Online status and notifications

While you use a visible FYB tab, a short heartbeat records your most recent activity. Online status and approximate last-seen times appear with your directory listing; the same public-profile visibility rules apply. Closing the app or losing connection can take up to 75 seconds to appear offline. We retain your latest online and offline times, not a named history of the pages you visit. Payment notifications are saved privately for you and shown when you return, with a copy in Notifications.

Website analytics

We use a random browser identifier in local storage to estimate unique visitors and visits. A new visit starts after 30 minutes without activity. Authorized admins can view page counts, anonymous recent visits, referring website names and broad device categories. Analytics records are kept for up to 90 days and are not linked to member accounts. We do not store names, email addresses, raw IP addresses or URL query strings in analytics. A short-lived hash is used to rate-limit requests. Admin pages and known bots are excluded, and browsers requesting Do Not Track are not tracked. Clearing browser storage changes your anonymous identifier.

Who can access your records

You and authorized executives can access the records necessary for their responsibilities. Every financial adjustment and sensitive administrative action leaves an audit record. Receipts require your session or the payer’s private access link.

Retention and your rights

Profiles may be deactivated while necessary financial audit records are preserved. The proposed retention period for financial records is seven years after cohort closure, subject to owner approval and applicable requirements. Dormant nonfinancial profile details are reviewed annually. Use the support page to request access, correction, or removal of nonessential information.

Before we open accounts

The fellowship will confirm its data controller contact and final retention policy before public registration is activated.
